Presidential Search March 2022 Update
The following is a brief update on the presidential search:
- The search for the next president of Texas State University is proceeding as planned and nearing completion, with the expectation of a sole finalist being named later this month.
- In late February, the Advisory Search Committee met for the third time to conduct first-round, virtual interviews with nine candidates.>
- Last week, the Advisory Search Committee met for the final time for second-round, in-person interviews and narrowed the pool to a small number of candidates who were recommended to the Chancellor for his consideration. The names of all candidates remain confidential and only the sole finalist will be named publicly.
- Over the next several weeks, additional due diligence will be conducted on the candidates and the Chancellor will also interview them.
- A sole finalist will be selected by the Chancellor and will be publicly announced most likely in late March 2022. The Board of Regents will hold a special called meeting to approve the sole finalist after a state-mandated 21-day waiting period.
- During the waiting period, the individual will be introduced to the campus community through a schedule of open forums and meetings with key stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, and community members.
