Several planning documents that are linked below will be useful as units develop their strategic plans.

Background Briefs provide a general assessment for each strategic goal and should give a sense of the “lay of the land,” the anticipated changes, and other challenges. The background briefs were designed to support all of those involved in the planning process for the unit.
Goals and Initiatives reflect the Texas State philosophy that a successful university plan must be driven by the academic endeavor. The success of the university plan depends on the ability of all divisions and units to support that endeavor.

Strategic Planning Templates provide means for gathering unit, department, school, and college plans in a uniform format so the plans can be elevated to division plans. Likewise, the template allows for division plans to be incorporated into the university plan. The template guides the planning process for units, departments, schools, colleges, and divisions and allows for standardized sharing of plans.
